The Suspense Account
by: Stephanie

The Suspense Account is typically used for temporarily classifying a transaction that you need to do further research on in order to be able to determine how to record it.

I use the Suspense Account when I am recording monthly transactions for a client but do not have the necessary detail as to what the transaction was for.

Once I am able to speak with the client to determine what the transaction was for, I will then go to the suspense account and reclass the entry to the correct account category.
