Qualify For My Boyfriend To Claim Me As Dependant

Hello, My boyfriend is claiming head of household and myself and our daughter as dependants. He has provided all of our costs in 2011. We have lived with him all 12 months of the last year and I have not worked due to illness. Our daughter is 14 and qualifies as a dependant.

My question is, that I am in default on Government school loans and when I have worked, the IRS obviously keeps my refund. Will this affect my boyfriends tax return because I am in debt?

We were married at one time, but divorced in 2005 and rekindled our relationship in the last year, but we are not married. I am assuming that it is only if we were married that the IRS could keep his refund, but if for any reason my defaulted loans place my boyfriends refund in jeopardy, then I will have him not claim me.

Thank you SO much for providing a place to ask questions and get answers. I have always dome my own taxes, even when I owned my own company, but this is one I really need to be certain of.
Thank you and have a good day.
